This page has been "under construction" long enough that it now qualifies as a historic ruin. A real site is coming any day now β€” right after I finish, apparently, a countdown timer, a dark mode toggle, and a changelog for a site with no content (see below). If it's urgent, email works β€” I answer those noticeably faster than I ship pages†.

† "Noticeably faster" is a low bar. Replies typically land within 2–3 business days, where "business days" excludes weekends, most weekdays, and any day I forget to check my inbox.

$ git log --oneline

v0.8.0 Put the entire website inside a terminal window

Caption buttons, a tab strip, and a fake desktop behind it. The interactive shell moved out of the page and into its own tab, and "+" opens another one β€” a real second session, knowing exactly as little as the first. Tab two finally opens the blog draft. It turns out it was never empty; it has been sitting in an unresolved merge conflict since 2024.

v0.7.1 Replaced the fake visitor counter with a real one

Nginx proxies to a small Python service backed by SQLite, deduped by IP so refresh-spamming doesn't inflate it. First genuinely functional thing on this entire page. Concerning precedent.

v0.7.0 Added seven new ways to waste time on a site with no content

A guestbook nobody will read, a right-click menu, a "delete everything" button that deletes nothing, a progress bar that lies, a blog preview that never loads, a status page for problems that aren't being fixed, and pagination to a page that doesn't exist.

v0.6.1 Added a changelog to a site that still has no real content

This is that changelog. You're reading it right now.

v0.6.0 Discovered a UI library called Jelly UI

Everything on the page now wobbles slightly when you press it. Filed internally as "a redesign."

v0.5.3 Fixed the countdown going negative after my birthday

It used to just count into negative days forever. So did my motivation to fix it, for a while.

v0.5.2 Added a dark mode toggle

Also added light mode, for the two people who'll use it un-ironically.

v0.4.0 Added a "Blog (soon)" button

It is disabled. It has been disabled since this line was written. It will likely stay that way.

v0.3.2 Removed a bgcolor="2e2929" HTML attribute from a more innocent time

Replaced it with the exact same color as a CSS custom property. Net progress: emotionally significant, functionally zero.

v0.2.0 Added a countdown to my birthday

Reason: unclear, even to me. Vibes: immaculate.

v0.1.0 Created this page, said I'd add content "soon"

Narrator: he did not.
